What is Mylanta One?

Calcium carbonate, magnesium hydroxide, and simethicone is a combination antacid and anti-gas medicine used in adults and children at least 12 years old to relieve heartburn, upset stomach, or acid indigestion.

Calcium carbonate, magnesium hydroxide, and simethicone may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.

Warnings

You should not use calcium carbonate, magnesium hydroxide, and simethicone if you are allergic to it or any of its ingredients.

Ask a doctor or pharmacist if this medicine is safe to use if you have or have ever had:

  • if you are on a low-magnesium diet;
  • have a medical condition or take any other medicines; or
  • kidney disease.

Ask a doctor before using this medicine if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Do not give this medicine to a child without medical advice.

How should I use Mylanta One

Use Mylanta One (Oral) exactly as directed on the label, or as prescribed by your doctor. Do not use in larger or smaller amounts or for longer than recommended.

Use exactly as directed on the label, or as prescribed by your doctor.

Your dose needs may change if you switch to a different brand, strength, or form of this medicine. Avoid medication errors by using exactly as directed on the label, or as prescribed by your doctor.

Calcium carbonate, magnesium hydroxide, and simethicone oral suspension is usually taken between meals, at bedtime, or as directed by your doctor.

Shake the oral suspension (liquid). Measure a dose with the supplied measuring device (not a kitchen spoon).

You must chew the chewable tablet before you swallow it. Follow your doctor's dosing instructions very carefully.

Do not take more than your recommended dose or use this medicine more often than prescribed.

An antacid is usually taken for a short time until your symptoms clear up. Call your doctor if your symptoms do not improve after 2 weeks or if they get worse.

Store at room temperature away from moisture and heat. Do not allow the oral suspension to freeze.

What should I do if I missed a dose of Mylanta One (Oral)?

Calcium carbonate, magnesium hydroxide, and simethicone is used when needed. If you are on a dosing schedule, skip any missed dose.

Mylanta One side effects

Get emergency medical help if you have signs of an allergic reaction: hives, difficult breathing, swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.

Less serious side effects may be more likely, or you may have none at all.

This is not a complete list of side effects and others may occur. Call your doctor for medical advice about side effects. You may report side effects to FDA at 1-800-FDA-1088.

What other drugs will affect Mylanta One?

Antacids can make it harder for your body to absorb other medicines you take by mouth. Avoid taking other medications at the same time you take calcium carbonate, magnesium hydroxide, and simethicone.

Ask a doctor or pharmacist before using over-the-counter medicines that may contain ingredients similar to calcium carbonate, magnesium hydroxide, and simethicone.
