Usual Adult Dose for Acne

Apply to affected areas twice a day (morning and evening), or as directed by physician.

Comments:

  • This drug should be applied after skin is thoroughly washed, rinsed with warm water, and gently patted dry.
  • Aktipak requires thorough mixing by the patient immediately before each use.

Use: For the topical treatment of acne vulgaris

Precautions

CONTRAINDICATIONS:
Hypersensitivity to the active component or any of the ingredients

Safety and efficacy have not been established in in patients younger than 12 years.

Administration advice:

  • For topical use only; not for ophthalmic use.
  • Avoid contact with eyes and all mucous membranes.

Storage requirements:
  • Aktipak: Store at room temperature 20C to 25C (68F to 77F); keep away from heat and any open flame.
  • Benzamycin:
  • Before reconstitution: Store at room temperature between 15C and 30C (59F and 86F).
  • After reconstitution: Store refrigerated between 2C and 8C (36F and 46F); do not freeze; keep tightly closed. Discard after 3 months.

Reconstitution/preparation techniques:
  • Aktipak: Requires thorough mixing by the patient immediately before each use
  • Benzamycin: The manufacturer product information should be consulted.

Patient advice:
  • Use this product externally as directed by physician; avoid contact with the eyes, mouth, and all mucous membranes (product may be irritating).
  • Do not use any other topical acne product unless otherwise directed by physician.
  • Report any signs of local side effects to physician.
  • This drug may bleach colored fabric or hair.

Additional patient advice for Aktipak:
  • You need to mix this medication before use; the contents of the 2 compartments in 1 foil pouch must be mixed thoroughly in the palm of your hand before application. Apply the product immediately after mixing and then wash your hands.
  • Do not mix or apply this product near an open flame.
  • Limit excessive or prolonged exposure to sunlight; wear a hat or other clothing to minimize exposure.
