Usual Pediatric Dose for Haemophilus influenzae Prophylaxis
Three dose primary series, ages 2 to 12 months:
Three 0.5 mL doses intramuscularly with at least 1 month between doses
Two dose primary series, ages 3 to 12 months:
Two 0.5 mL doses intramuscularly with at least 2 months between doses
Primary series in preterm infants born between 25 and 36 weeks gestational age, administered between 2 and 12 months of age:
Three 0.5 mL doses intramuscularly with at least 2 months between doses
Booster dose, given between 1 and 2 years of age:
One 0.5 mL dose, at least 6 months after the 3 dose primary vaccination series (or 5 months after the 2 dose primary series).
Comments:
- Use in accordance with official recommendations.
- There are no data on using this vaccine for 1 or 2 doses of the primary vaccination series after other Haemophilus b or meningococcal vaccines.
- It is recommended if the first dose of primary vaccination is done with this vaccine then the entire series should be completed with this vaccine.

Precautions
CONTRAINDICATIONS:
- Hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients
- Hypersensitivity after previous administration of this vaccine
- Acute severe febrile illness; minor infection is not a contraindication

Administration advice:
- For intramuscular use only.
- Under no circumstances should this be given intravenously, intradermally, or subcutaneously.
- The anterolateral thigh is the preferred administration site.
- Children 12 to 24 months may be vaccinated in the deltoid region.
