Usual Adult Dose for Osteoarthritis

21 years and older:
Inject 16 mg (2 mL) intra-articularly into the knee once a week for 3 weeks

Comments:

• Strict aseptic administration technique should be followed.
• Using an 18- to 22-gauge needle, remove synovial fluid or effusion before each injection.
• Do not use the same syringe for removing synovial fluid and for injecting this drug; however, the same 18- to 22-gauge needle should be used.

CONTRAINDICATIONS:

• Hypersensitivity to the active component or any of the ingredients
• Do not inject this drug in the knees of patients having knee joint infections or skin diseases or infections in the area of the injection site

• This drug is only for injection into the knee, performed by a doctor or other qualified health care professional.
• This drug has not been tested to show pain relief in joints other than the knee.
• This drug has not been tested to show better pain relief when combined with other injected medicines.
• This drug should be used with caution when there is evidence of lymphatic or venous stasis in the leg to be injected.

• Tell your doctor if you have significant swelling or blood clots in the leg.
• This drug has not been tested in pregnant women, or women who are nursing. You should tell your doctor if you think you are pregnant, or if you are nursing a child.
