What is Benzyl alcohol, camphor, and menthol topical?

Benzyl alcohol, camphor, and menthol topical is used to relieve itching caused by insect bites and minor skin irritations.

Benzyl alcohol, camphor, and menthol topical may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.

How should I take Benzyl alcohol, camphor, and menthol topical

Use exactly as directed on the label, or as prescribed by your doctor.

Use benzyl alcohol, camphor, and menthol topical in the affected area not more than 3 times a day.

Use this medicine in a small part of your skin before applying to the entire body.

Topical medicine is for use only on the skin. Do not use on your face, genital area, on blistered or broken skin. Do not cover treated skin with a bandage unless your doctor tells you to.

Store at room temperature away from moisture and heat.

Get emergency medical help if you have signs of an allergic reaction: hives; difficult breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.

Stop using benzyl alcohol, camphor, and menthol topical and call your doctor if:

  • your condition worsens; or

  • your symptoms last more than 7 days or clear up and return within a few days.

Less serious side effects may be more likely, and you may have none at all.
