What is Glycerin, Lidocaine, And Witch Hazel Topical?

Glycerin, lidocaine, and witch hazel topical (for the skin) is a combination medicine used to temporarily relieve pain, itching, discomfort, burning, and irritation caused by hemorrhoids.

Glycerin, lidocaine, and witch hazel topical may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.

Warnings

You should not use glycerin, lidocaine, and witch hazel topical if you are allergic to it.

Ask a doctor before using this medicine if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Do not give this medicine to a child younger than 12 years old without medical advice.

How should I use Glycerin, Lidocaine, And Witch Hazel Topical

Use Glycerin, Lidocaine, And Witch Hazel Topical (Topical) exactly as directed on the label, or as prescribed by your doctor. Do not use in larger or smaller amounts or for longer than recommended.

Do not take by mouth. Topical medicine is for use only on the skin.

Wash your hands before and after applying this medicine.

Do not apply glycerin, lidocaine, and witch hazel topical directly in the rectum using your fingers, any mechanical device, or applicator.

When possible, clean the affected area with warm water and mild soap, and rinse thoroughly. Dry by patting or blotting with toilet tissue or a soft cloth before using glycerin, lidocaine, and witch hazel topical.

Apply glycerin, lidocaine, and witch hazel topical to the affected area up to 6 times a day or after having a bowel movement. Discard pad in the trash and wash hands after application.

If needed, clean the affected area and place wipe in contact with irritated area. Leave in place for up to 15 minutes.

Store at room temperature away from moisture and heat.

What should I do if I missed a dose of Glycerin, Lidocaine, And Witch Hazel Topical (Topical)?

Glycerin, lidocaine, and witch hazel topical is used when needed. If you are on a dosing schedule, skip any missed dose. Do not use two doses at one time.

Glycerin, Lidocaine, And Witch Hazel Topical side effects

Get emergency medical help if you have signs of an allergic reaction: hives, difficult breathing, swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.

Stop using glycerin, lidocaine, and witch hazel topical and call your doctor at once if you have:

  • rectal bleeding;
  • redness, irritation, swelling, pain that develop or increase; or
  • if your symptoms do not improve, or if they get worse within 7 days.

Less serious side effects may be more likely, or you may have none at all.
