What is Liquiphed DM?

Brompheniramine is an antihistamine. Dextromethorphan is a cough suppressant. Pseudoephedrine is a decongestant.

Brompheniramine, dextromethorphan, and pseudoephedrine is a combination medicine used to treat cough, runny or stuffy nose, sneezing, and watery eyes caused by allergies or the common cold.

Brompheniramine, dextromethorphan, and pseudoephedrine may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.

Warnings

You should not use this medicine if you are allergic to it brompheniramine, dextromethorphan, or pseudoephedrine, or if you have:

Tell your doctor if you are pregnant.

Do not breastfeed.

  • severe high blood pressure; or
  • severe coronary artery disease (clogged arteries).
  • asthma or COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease);
  • a cough with mucus, or a cough caused by smoking, asthma, or emphysema;
  • a blockage in your digestive tract (stomach or intestines);
  • a bladder obstruction or other urination problems;
  • high blood pressure, heart disease;
  • glaucoma;
  • diabetes; or
  • overactive thyroid.

Do not use brompheniramine, dextromethorphan, and pseudoephedrine if you have used an MAO inhibitor in the past 14 days. A dangerous drug interaction could occur. MAO inhibitors include isocarboxazid, linezolid, methylene blue injection, phenelzine, and tranylcypromine.

How should I use Liquiphed DM

Use Liquiphed DM (Oral) exactly as directed on the label, or as prescribed by your doctor. Do not use in larger or smaller amounts or for longer than recommended.

Follow all directions on your prescription label and read all medication guides or instruction sheets. Use the medicine exactly as directed.

Measure with the supplied measuring device (not a kitchen spoon). liquid medicine

If you need surgery or medical tests, tell the doctor ahead of time if you have taken this medicine within the past few days.

Follow all directions when giving this medicine to a child. Misuse of this medicine may cause death in very young children. Do not use the medicine to make a child sleepy.

Call your doctor if your symptoms do not improve after 7 days, or if you have a fever, rash, or headaches.

Store tightly closed at room temperature, away from moisture and heat.

This medicine is used when needed. If you are on a dosing schedule, skip any missed dose. use two doses at one time. Do not

Stop using this medicine and call your doctor at once if you have:

  • hallucinations;
  • a seizure;
  • painful or difficult urination;
  • a light-headed feeling, like you might pass out;
  • fast or pounding heartbeats;
  • pale skin, weakness, easy bruising or bleeding, fever, chills, body aches; or
  • severe headache, blurred vision, pounding in your neck or ears.
  • dizziness, drowsiness;
  • coughing up thick mucus;
  • feeling restless or excited (especially in children); or
  • dry mouth, nose, or throat.

Ask a doctor or pharmacist before taking other cough or cold medicines that may contain similar ingredients.

Avoid becoming overheated or dehydrated during exercise and in hot weather. This medicine can decrease sweating and you may be more prone to heat stroke.

Avoid driving or hazardous activity until you know how this medicine will affect you. Your reactions could be impaired.

Drinking alcohol with this medicine can cause side effects.
