What is Phytoplex Clear-Aid?
Petrolatum and zinc oxide topical (for the skin) is used to treat and protect skin from small cuts, scrapes, burns, and chapped or cracked skin for a short period of time.
Petrolatum and zinc topical helps seal out wetness and is helpful in preventing diaper rash or other types of minor skin irritation.
Petrolatum and zinc oxide topical may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.
Warnings
You should not use petrolatum and zinc oxide if you are allergic to it or its ingredients, or if you have: where is this
- deep or puncture wounds;
- animal bites; or
- serious burns.
Ask a doctor before using this medicine if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Do not apply this medicine to a child without medical advice.
How should I use Phytoplex Clear-Aid
Use Phytoplex Clear-Aid (Topical) exactly as directed on the label, or as prescribed by your doctor. Do not use in larger or smaller amounts or for longer than recommended.

Do not take by mouth. Topical medicine is for use only on the skin.
Petrolatum and zinc oxide is used as needed. Wash your hands before and after applying this medicine unless you are using it to treat a hand condition. Use a mild soap to clean the skin area to be treated.
To treat diaper rash, apply petrolatum and zinc oxide topical as needed with each diaper change. Change wet and soiled diapers as soon as possible. Keep the diaper area clean and dry.
Call your doctor if your symptoms worsen, do not improve after using this medicine for 7 days, or if your condition improves and comes back.
Store at room temperature away from moisture and heat. Do not allow the medicine to freeze.
Petrolatum and zinc oxide is used when needed. If you are on a dosing schedule, skip any missed dose. Do not apply two doses at one time.
Phytoplex Clear-Aid side effects
Get emergency medical help if you have signs of an allergic reaction: hives, difficult breathing, swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.
Stop using petrolatum and zinc oxide and call your doctor at once if your skin condition worsens.
Less serious side effects may be more likely, or you may have none at all.
