What is Wellbaby dha?

Wellbaby DHA-Vitamin D3 is an oral omega 3 plus vitamin D supplement that has been formulated to support a young baby’s diet. Wellbaby DHA-Vitamin D3 contains DHA and vitamin D3 at levels recommended by the UK Department of Health.

DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) is an Omega-3 fatty acid. Omega-3 fatty acids are essential for human health, but the human body can’t make them, so they must be obtained through diet or supplementation. DHA is found in high amounts in the tissues of the brain, skin, and eye, and babies accumulate a large amount of DHA during their first year of life.

Vitamin D which is needed for normal growth and development of bone in children. It also contributes to their normal immune system function.

During their early years, children's nutritional requirements are particularly high. Wellbaby DHA-Vitamin D3 helps support general health and wellbeing in babies.

Warnings

Take Wellbaby DHA-Vitamin D3 exactly as directed on the label, or as prescribed by your doctor. Do not take it in larger amounts or for longer than recommended.

Wellbaby supplements are:

  • Free from peanut oil
  • Contain no artificial sweeteners, colours or flavour
  • Contain no salt, yeast, alcohol or lactose.

Wellbaby supplements are not tested on animals and are suitable for vegetarians. They have been specially formulated for babies and young children and are not recommended for adults.

Do not use if the bottle seal is broken on purchase. Use the dropper provided.

Once opened use within 3 months.

Wipe any spillage off your infant's skin.

As with other food supplements, seek professional advice if your child is under medical supervision or suffers from food allergies.

Keep out of reach of children.

Store below 25°C in a dry place. To open bottle, press & turn childproof cap. Keep tightly closed. For Best Before end date, see the base of the carton.

Before Taking

Seek professional advice if your child is under medical supervision, has liver disease or a clotting disorder, has an upcoming surgery or a procedure that might increase their risk for bleeding, or suffers from food allergies. Be sure to check the label on Wellbaby DHA-Vitamin D3 to look for other active or inactive ingredients that may cause an allergy. If you are not sure, ask your pharmacist.

Wellbaby DHA-Vitamin D3 is a supplement and is not intended to take the place of a nutritionally-balanced diet that is recommended by experts for babies and young children.

What happens if I miss a dose?

Give the missed dose as soon as you remember. Skip the missed dose if it is almost time for the next scheduled dose. Do not give extra medicine to make up the missed dose.

What happens if I overdose?

Seek emergency medical attention or call the Poison Help line at 1-800-222-1222.

Wellbaby dha side effects

Stop using Wellbaby DHA-Vitamin D3 and get emergency medical help if you think you have given too much medicine, or if your baby has any of these signs of an allergic reaction: hives; difficulty breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.

Less serious Wellbaby DHA-Vitamin D3 side effects may include:

  • Bad breath
  • Loose stools.

Less serious side effects are more likely, and your baby may have none at all. Talk to your doctor about any side effect that seems unusual or is especially bothersome.

Other drugs may interact with omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids, such as DHA, including prescription and over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal products. Tell each of your health care providers about all the medicines your baby needs and any new medicine you start or stop giving to your baby.
