What is it?
Aluminum chloride (AlCl3) is a compound of aluminum and chloride. It exists as while or yellow powder. It is frequently used in the pharmaceutical industry as a catalyst for chemical reactions. Aluminum chloride solution, or aluminum chlorohydrate, is also used an antiperspirant in products such as Drysol or Xerac AC. It is thought to work by altering the sweat-producing cells in the body. Anhydrous aluminum chloride can be irritating to the skin, eyes, or respiratory system.
