What is it?
Calcium sulfate (CaO4S) is a calcium salt that is used for a variety of purposes including: building materials, as a desiccant (drying agent), in dentistry as an impression material, cast, or die, and in medicine for immobilizing casts and as an inactive ingredient tablet excipient and color glaze. It exists in various forms and states of hydration. It exists as a fine, white to slightly yellow-white odorless powder. It is also used as an anti-caking agent and colorant.
