Serious side effects
Along with its needed effects, magnesium sulfate / potassium chloride / sodium sulfate may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.
Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur while taking magnesium sulfate / potassium chloride / sodium sulfate:
Rare
- Dizziness
- fainting
- fast, slow, or uneven heartbeat
Incidence not known
- Bloody stools
- confusion
- decreased urination
- diarrhea
- drowsiness
- dry mouth
- fainting
- increase in heart rate
- lightheadedness
- loss of appetite
- mood or mental changes
- nausea
- rapid breathing
- rectal bleeding
- seizures
- stomach pain and tenderness
- sunken eyes
- swelling of the eyelids, face, lips, ankles, hands, or feet
- thirst
- trouble breathing
- unusual tiredness or weakness
- vomiting
- wrinkled skin
Other side effects
Some side effects of magnesium sulfate / potassium chloride / sodium sulfate may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects.

- pressure in the stomach
- swelling of the stomach area
