At age 80, skin on the shin and calve of my left leg is very dry and cracked to the point where flakes of dry skin fall off. A recent medical incision required an adhesive plaster dressing which has aggravated and punctured the skin around the incision which has now healed. But pieces of skin have been torn off with removal of the plasters leaving small, bare patches of flesh! The medical specialists in their wisdom prescribed thick Zinc Ointment (30%) twice daily to keep the skin on my legs moist - but now, neither the specialists nor the manufacturers of the Zinc Ointment can tell me how to remove the remaining zinc cream on my legs, because of the small bare patches of flesh. Can anybody help me with a solution please?
