Toradol contains the active ingredient ketorolac which belongs to a class of drugs called nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID’s). Toradol works by reducing hormones that cause inflammation and pain in the body.
Tramadol is a centrally acting pain reliever similar to narcotics.
The only similarity is that they both could be prescribed to treat certain types of moderate to severe pain particularly after surgery, but they work in very different ways.
