I was prescribed omeprazole not too long ago from my primary doctor. I have ibs. Just last night I went to the er for diarrhea, stomach discomfort, and other issues not related. One medication I was prescribed is famotidine. Which medication would work better for my irritable bowl syndrome. After eating some foods throughout the day my stomach sometimes gets cramps and very uncomfortable to where I get constipated and have to hunch over because of the pain. I was prescribed other medication recently for my stomach, one being dicyclomine. Since omeprazole and famotidine seem so similar, I was wondering which would work better in my case? Looking for a long term fix. Also I read dicyclomine is addictive but seems to work towards ibs which is exactly what I need long term.
