Xeljanz and Xeljanz XR are made by Pfizer Inc., a pharmaceutical company located in New York, NY. You can contact Pfizer at 1-800-879-3477 or online at Pfizer.com.

If you are looking for information on cost-savings for Xeljanz, you can contact the Xelsource team at 1-844-935-5269, Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 8 PM ET.

When was Xeljanz approved by the FDA?

In November 2012 the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) first approved Xeljanz (tofacitinib). It is an oral Janus kinase (JAK) inhibitor used for the treatment of:

  • rheumatoid arthritis
  • psoriatic arthritis
  • ulcerative colitis
  • ankylosing spondylitis
  • polyarticular juvenile idiopathic arthritis.

Xeljanz comes as an oral tablet or an oral solution and is usually given twice a day. Xeljanz XR, an extended-release tablet, is usually given once per day. Follow your doctor's dosing instructions exactly.

If you have kidney or liver problems, take certain medicines, or have certain low blood cell counts, your doctor may need to adjust your dose.
