What are some things I need to know or do while I use Ivermectin Lotion?

• Tell all of your health care providers that you use Ivermectin Lotion. This includes your doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and dentists.
• This medicine may cause harm if swallowed. If ivermectin lotion is swallowed, call a doctor or poison control center right away.
• Do not give ivermectin lotion to an infant younger than 6 months of age.
• Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or plan on getting pregnant. You will need to talk about the benefits and risks of using ivermectin lotion while you are pregnant.

How is this medicine (Ivermectin Lotion) best used?

Use ivermectin lotion as ordered by your doctor. Read all information given to you. Follow all instructions closely.

• Do not use Ivermectin Lotion by mouth. Use on your scalp and hair only. Keep out of your mouth, nose, ears, and eyes (may burn).
• If you get ivermectin lotion in any of these areas, rinse well with water.
• Do not wet hair before putting ivermectin lotion on.
• Rub into dry hair and scalp all the way.
• Wash your hands after use.
• Leave on your hair and scalp for 10 minutes.
• After 10 minutes, fully rinse hair and scalp with water only.
• Throw away any part not used after use.
• After using ivermectin lotion, wait 24 hours before using shampoo on hair and scalp.
• Use special nit comb or tweezers to get rid of dead nits (lice eggs) from hair.
• Wash all bedding, towels, and recently worn clothes in hot water or have them dry cleaned.
• Wash all combs, brushes, and hair clips in hot water.

What do I do if I miss a dose?

• Most of the time, only one dose of ivermectin lotion is needed. If you forget to put on the dose, put it on as soon as you think about it.

What are some side effects that I need to call my doctor about right away?

WARNING/CAUTION: Even though it may be rare, some people may have very bad and sometimes deadly side effects when taking a drug. Tell your doctor or get medical help right away if you have any of the following signs or symptoms that may be related to a very bad side effect:

• Signs of an allergic reaction, like rash; hives; itching; red, swollen, blistered, or peeling skin with or without fever; wheezing; tightness in the chest or throat; trouble breathing, swallowing, or talking; unusual hoarseness; or swelling of the mouth, face, lips, tongue, or throat.
• Very bad irritation where ivermectin lotion is used.
• Very bad burning or burning that does not go away.
• If live lice are seen after 7 days.

What are some other side effects of Ivermectin Lotion?

All drugs may cause side effects. However, many people have no side effects or only have minor side effects. Call your doctor or get medical help if any of these side effects or any other side effects bother you or do not go away:

• Irritation where ivermectin lotion is used.
• Burning.
• Dry skin.
• Eye irritation.
