Animal studies have failed to reveal evidence of teratogenicity or embryotoxicity at higher doses. There are no controlled data in human pregnancy.
US FDA pregnancy category B: Animal reproduction studies have failed to demonstrate a risk to the fetus and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women.

According to some authorities, use of this drug produces negligible maternal serum levels and any drug in breast milk would not be absorbed by the infant.
Caution is recommended.

Comments: Some of this drug is systemically absorbed following nasal administration, however, the amount which may be excreted in human milk is unknown.
