Serious side effects of Quviviq
Along with its needed effects, daridorexant (the active ingredient contained in Quviviq) may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.
Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur while taking daridorexant:
More common
- Relaxed and calm
- sleepiness
- unusual drowsiness, dullness, tiredness, weakness, or feeling of sluggishness
- unusually deep sleep
- unusually long duration of sleep
Incidence not known
- Changes in behavior
- discouragement
- feeling sad or empty
- irritability
- lack of appetite
- loss of interest or pleasure
- seeing, hearing, or feeling things that are not there
- thoughts of killing oneself
- trouble concentrating
Other side effects of Quviviq
Some side effects of daridorexant may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects.

- Dizziness
- feeling of constant movement of self or surroundings
- headache
- nausea
- sensation of spinning

General
The most common adverse reactions were headache, somnolence, and fatigue.[Ref]
Gastrointestinal
Nausea includes nausea, vomiting and procedural nausea.[Ref]
Common (1% to 10%): Nausea (up to 3%)[Ref]
Psychiatric
Somnolence or fatigue includes somnolence, sedation, fatigue, hypersomnia and lethargy.[Ref]
Common (1% to 10%): Somnolence or fatigue (up to 6%)
Uncommon (0.1% to 1%): Sleep paralysis (up to 0.5%), hypnagogic and hypnopompic hallucinations (0.6%)[Ref]
Nervous system
Common (1% to 10%): Headache (up to 7%), dizziness (up to 3%)[Ref]
Headache includes headache, tension headache, migraine with and without aura and head discomfort.
Dizziness includes, dizziness, vertigo and labyrinthitis.[Ref]
