Follicular lymphoma is a type of non-Hodgkins lymphoma that develops from a B cell lymphocyte (a specific type of white blood cell) which starts to grow and divide in abnormal or uncontrolled way. Follicular lymphoma is an indolent lymphoma which means that it is a slow growing and slow spreading lymphoma.
Some Follicular lymphomas can undergo change and can become a transformed follicular lymphoma that has different properties than the original lymphoma and may require different treatments.
