Hemophilia A is a hereditary blood coagulation disorder caused by a deficient activity of plasma protein factor VIII, which affects the clotting property of blood. In just under a quarter of people who have Hemophilia develop a serious complication where their bodies form an antibody against the product used to treat or prevent bleeding episodes. This antibody is called an Inhibitor.
