Serious side effects of Xpovio
Along with its needed effects, selinexor (the active ingredient contained in Xpovio) may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.
Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur while taking selinexor:
More common
- Black, tarry stools
- bladder pain
- bleeding gums
- blindness
- bloating or swelling of the face, arms, hands, lower legs, or feet
- bloody or cloudy urine
- blurred or decreased vision
- body aches or pain
- bone pain
- burning, numbness, tingling, or painful sensations
- chest pain or tightness
- chills
- confusion
- cough
- coughing up blood
- decreased urination
- diarrhea
- difficult, burning, or painful urination
- difficulty in breathing or swallowing
- dizziness
- dizziness, faintness, or lightheadedness when getting up suddenly from a lying or sitting position
- dry mouth
- ear congestion
- fainting
- fast or irregular heartbeat
- fever
- flushed, dry skin
- fruit-like breath odor
- hallucinations
- headache
- hoarseness
- holding false beliefs that cannot be changed by fact
- increase in heart rate
- increased hunger or thirst
- increased menstrual flow or vaginal bleeding
- increased urination
- lightheadedness
- loss of appetite
- loss of consciousness
- loss of voice
- lower back or side pain
- mental or mood changes
- muscle cramps or pain
- nausea
- nosebleeds
- numbness or tingling in the hands, feet, or lips
- painful or difficult urination
- pale skin
- paralysis
- pinpoint red spots on the skin
- problems with memory
- prolonged bleeding from cuts
- rapid breathing
- red or black, tarry stools
- red or dark brown urine
- runny or stuffy nose
- seizures
- sneezing
- sore throat
- sores, ulcers, or white spots on the lips or in the mouth
- stomach pain
- sunken eyes
- sweating
- swollen glands
- tingling of the hands or feet
- ulcers, sores, or white spots in the mouth
- unsteadiness or awkwardness
- unusual bleeding or bruising
- unusual excitement, nervousness, or restlessness
- unusual tiredness or weakness
- unusual weight gain or loss
- vomiting
- weakness in the arms, hands, legs, or feet
- wrinkled skin
Less common
- Burning or stinging of the skin
- dilated neck veins
- painful cold sores or blisters on the lips, nose, eyes, or genitals
Other side effects of Xpovio
Some side effects of selinexor may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects.
