Drug Detail:Terazosin (Terazosin [ ter-ay-zo-sin ])
Drug Class: Alpha-adrenoreceptor antagonists Antiadrenergic agents, peripherally acting
Initial dose: 1 mg orally once a day at bedtime
Maintenance dose: Initial dose may be increased slowly as needed and appropriate; usual recommended dose is 1 to 5 mg orally once a day
Maximum dose: 20 mg/day
Comments: If blood pressure response is substantially diminished 24 hours after dosing, an increased dose or use of a twice a day regimen can be considered.
