Usual Adult Dose for Intraocular Hypertension

One drop in the affected eye(s) once a day in the evening

Comments:

• This drug should not be administered more than once per day since it has been shown that more frequent administration of prostaglandin analogs may decrease the intraocular pressure lowering effect.
• Reduction of the intraocular pressure starts approximately 2 hours after the first administration with maximum effect reached after 12 hours.
• If more than one topical ophthalmic drug is being used, the drugs should be administered at least five (5) minutes apart.

Use: Reduction of elevated intraocular pressure in patients with open angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension

Storage requirements:

• Store between 2 C to 25 C

Patient Advice:

• You should wipe off any excess solution from the skin to reduce the risk of darkening of the eyelid skin.
• As with any other eye drops, nasolacrimal occlusion or gently closing the eyelid after administration is recommended. This may reduce the systemic absorption of drugs administered via the ocular route.
