AU TGA pregnancy category D: Drugs which have caused, are suspected to have caused or may be expected to cause, an increased incidence of human fetal malformations or irreversible damage. US FDA pregnancy category C: Animal reproduction studies have shown an adverse effect on the fetus and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in humans, but potential benefits may warrant use of the drug in pregnant women despite potential risks.
This drug should not be used during pregnancy unless the benefit outweighs the risk to the fetus.

Comment:
-This drug should be used in areas away from the chest to prevent accidental contact with the infant's skin.
Risk to the nursing infant is considered low, as only a negligible amount is absorbed after topical application.
