Serious side effects of Rezzayo
Along with its needed effects, rezafungin (the active ingredient contained in Rezzayo) may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.
Check with your doctor or nurse immediately if any of the following side effects occur while taking rezafungin:
More common
- Bone pain
- decreased urine
- drowsiness
- dry mouth
- irregular heartbeat
- loss of appetite
- mood or mental changes
- muscle pain, cramps, or spasms
- nausea or vomiting
- numbness or tingling in the hands, feet, or lips
- pale skin
- seizures
- trembling
- trouble breathing
- unusual bleeding or bruising
- unusual tiredness or weakness
Less common
- Agitation
- black, tarry stools
- blood in the stools
- blood in the urine
- back pain
- chest tightness
- chills
- coma
- confusion
- coughing or vomiting blood
- decreased urine output
- depression
- difficulty swallowing
- dizziness
- feeling of warmth
- fever
- headache
- hostility
- irritability
- lethargy
- pain, numbness, or tingling of the hands, arms, legs, or feet
- persistent bleeding or oozing from puncture sites, mouth, or nose
- rash
- redness of the face, neck, arms and occasionally, upper chest
- stupor
- swelling of the face, fingers, hands, feet, ankles, or lower legs
- vomiting of blood or material that looks like coffee grounds
- weight gain
Incidence not known
- Dark urine
- increased sensitivity of skin to sunlight
- itching, hives, or welts
- pain or tenderness in the upper stomach
- pale stools
- redness or other discoloration of skin
- severe sunburn
- yellow eyes or skin
Other side effects of Rezzayo
Some side effects of rezafungin may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects.
Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

The most common adverse reactions occurring in 5% of patients or greater included hypokalemia, pyrexia, diarrhea, anemia, vomiting, nausea, hypomagnesemia, abdominal pain, constipation, and hypophosphatemia.[Ref]
Dermatologic
Common (less than 5%): Erythema[Ref]
Gastrointestinal
Very common (10% or more): Diarrhea (11%)
Common (1% to 10%): Vomiting, nausea, abdominal pain, constipation
Reported as less than 5%: Dysphagia, gastrointestinal hemorrhage[Ref]
Hematologic
Very common (10% or more): Anemia (10%)
Common (less than 5%): Disseminated intravascular coagulation[Ref]
Local
Common (less than 5%): Infusion-related reactions (including flushing, sensation of warmth, urticaria, nausea, and chest tightness)[Ref]
Metabolic
Very common (10% or more): Hypokalemia (15%),
