Talazoparib Side Effects

Serious side effects of Talazoparib

Along with its needed effects, talazoparib may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur while taking talazoparib:

More common

  • Black, tarry stools
  • bleeding gums
  • blood in the urine or stools
  • bone pain or fracture
  • chest pain
  • chills
  • cough
  • fever
  • hoarseness
  • lower back or side pain
  • painful or difficult urination
  • pale skin
  • pinpoint red spots on the skin
  • sore throat
  • sores, ulcers, or white spots on the lips or in the mouth
  • swelling or inflammation of the mouth
  • swollen glands
  • trouble breathing with exertion
  • unusual bleeding or bruising
  • unusual tiredness or weakness

Other side effects of Talazoparib

Some side effects of talazoparib may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects.

  • thinning or loss of hair
  • vomiting

The most reported adverse reactions have included fatigue, anemia, nausea, neutropenia, headache, thrombocytopenia, vomiting, alopecia, diarrhea, and decreased appetite.

Hematologic

Very common (10% or more): Anemia (e.g., anemia, hematocrit decreased, hemoglobin decreased, red blood cell count decreased) (53%), neutropenia (e.g., febrile neutropenia, neutropenia and neutrophil count decreased) (35%), thrombocytopenia (e.g., thrombocytopenia, platelet count decreased) (27%), leukopenia (17%)

Common (1% to 10%): Lymphopenia[Ref]

Metabolic

Very common (10% or more): Glucose increased (54%), calcium decreased (28%), decreased appetite (21%)[Ref]

Hepatic

Very common (10% or more): AST increased (37%), ALP increased (36%), ALT increased (33%)[Ref]

Oncologic

Uncommon (0.1% to 1%): Myelodysplastic syndrome, acute myeloid leukemia[Ref]

Other

Very common (10% or more): Fatigue/asthenia (62%)[Ref]

Nervous system

Very common (10% or more): Headache (33%), dizziness (17%), dysgeusia (10%)[Ref]

Dermatologic

Very common (10% or more): Alopecia (25%)[Ref]

Gastrointestinal

Very common (10% or more): Nausea (49%), vomiting (25%), diarrhea (22%), abdominal pain (19%), dyspepsia (10%)

Common (1% to 10%): Stomatitis[Ref]
