What is Kinevac?

Kinevac is used to help diagnose disorders of the gallbladder or pancreas.

Kinevac is also used to speed up digestion of barium, a contrast agent, given in preparation for x-ray examination of the intestines.

Kinevac may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.

Warnings

You should not receive Kinevac if you have a blockage in your intestines.

Tell your doctor if you are pregnant. Receiving Kinevac during pregnancy may result in a miscarriage or premature labor.

How should I use Kinevac

Kinevac is given as an infusion into a vein.

Kinevac side effects

Get emergency medical help if you have signs of an allergic reaction: hives; difficult breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.

  • severe nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, or stomach cramps; or

  • a light-headed feeling, like you might pass out.
