Usual Adult Dose for Hypotrichosis of the Eyelashes
Apply 1 drop to the upper eyelid margin of each eye once a day at night
Application:
- Apply topically to clean, makeup-free skin using the supplied sterile applicators with 1 applicator for each eye.
- Place 1 drop of this drug on an applicator; apply evenly along the skin of the upper eyelid at base of lashes.
- Following administration, upper lid margin should feel lightly moist; if there is runoff, blot with a tissue or absorbent cloth.
- Repeat for the opposite eyelid margin using a new sterile applicator.
Comments:
- Additional drops or applications will not increase eyelash growth.
- Eyelash growth is expected to return to pretreatment levels upon drug discontinuation.
Use: Treatment of hypotrichosis of the eyelashes by increasing growth (e.g., length, thickness, and darkness)

Precautions
CONTRAINDICATIONS:
- Hypersensitivity to the active component or any of the ingredients

Administration advice:
- Apply once a day at night
- Prior to application, remove makeup and contact lenses, clean and dry face
- Place 1 drop on applicator and apply evenly along the skin of the upper eyelid at base of lashes
- Blot any runoff solution with a tissue or absorbent cloth
- Do not apply to lower eyelids
- Repeat dosing application to the opposite eyelid using a new applicator (1 drop per eye, each on a new applicator)
- Use only the supplied single-use disposable applicators
- Avoid allowing bottle tip or sterile applicator to contact fingers or any other unintended surface to avoid contamination
- Discard disposable applicator after use
Storage requirements: Store at 2C to 25C
General:
- Onset of effect is gradual (significant at approximately 2 months). The effects of this drug are not permanent.
- Any solution that gets into the eye will not cause harm and should not be rinsed.
Monitoring:
- OCULAR: Patients using concomitant prostaglandin analogs should be monitored for changes to intraocular pressure.
Patient advice:
- Patients should be told that additional drops or applications will not increase eyelash growth.
- Patients should be advised that this drug may cause eyelid skin darkening that may be reversible after discontinuation.
- Patients should be warned that this drug may increase brown pigmentation of the iris, which is likely to be permanent.
- Patients should be instructed to avoid application to skin surrounding the treatment area as unexpected hair growth may occur in areas repeatedly exposed to this drug.
- Patients should be told to contact their healthcare provider if a new ocular condition occurs (e.g., trauma, infection, hypersensitivity reaction, surgery), or for any sudden decrease in vision.
