Applies to dexbrompheniramine: oral liquid, oral tablet.
You should not use antihistamine medication to make a child sleepy.
Get emergency medical help if you have signs of an allergic reaction: hives; difficult breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.
Stop using dexbrompheniramine (the active ingredient contained in Ala-Hist IR) and call your doctor at once if you have:

fast or uneven heart rate;

mood changes;
-
tremor, seizure (convulsions);

easy bruising or bleeding, unusual weakness;
-
feeling short of breath; or
-
little or no urination.
Common side effects may include:

drowsiness;
-
dry mouth, nose, or throat;

constipation;
-
blurred vision; or
-
feeling restless or excited (especially in children).
