Serious side effects of Lastacaft
Along with its needed effects, alcaftadine ophthalmic (the active ingredient contained in Lastacaft) may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.
Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur while taking alcaftadine ophthalmic:

- Changes in vision
- eye pain
- increased eye redness
- itching of the eye that worsens or lasts for more than 72 hours

The most commonly reported side effects included eye burning, irritation, and/or stinging following irritation.[Ref]

Frequency not reported: Eye burning/irritation/pruritus/redness/stinging upon instillation
Postmarketing reports: Blurred vision, eye discharge, eye swelling, eyelid edema, eyelid erythema, increased lacrimation[Ref]
Nervous system

Respiratory

Dermatologic
