Serious side effects of Otiprio

Along with its needed effects, ciprofloxacin otic (the active ingredient contained in Otiprio) may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor or nurse immediately if any of the following side effects occur while taking ciprofloxacin otic:

Less common

• Fever
• headache
• muscle aches
• sore throat
• stuffy or runny nose
• unusual tiredness or weakness

Other side effects of Otiprio

Some side effects of ciprofloxacin otic may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects.

The most commonly reported side effects included application site pain, ear pruritus, and headache.^[Ref]

Other

Common (1% to 10%): Ear pruritus, ear pain, ear discomfort/stinging, otitis media, ear infection (fungal; otomycosis)/fungal ear superinfection

Postmarketing reports: Crying, ear congestion, otorrhea, pyrexia^[Ref]

Nervous system

Common (1% to 10%): Headache/cephalea, dizziness, vertigo, dysgeusia/bitter taste

Uncommon (0.1% to 1%): Tinnitus^[Ref]

Psychiatric

Common (1% to 10%): Irritability^[Ref]

Respiratory

Common (1% to 10%): Nasopharyngitis, rhinorrhea^[Ref]

Local

Common (1% to 10%): Mild local intolerance, application site pain^[Ref]

Dermatologic

Uncommon (0.1% to 1%): Dermatitis

Locally-applied fluoroquinolones:

-Very rare (less than 0.01%): Toxic epidermolysis, exfoliative dermatitis, generalized rash, Stevens-Johnson syndrome, urticaria

Hypersensitivity
